Michael Keane is a real estate investor, city planner, and land development specialist.

In the REI space, Michael and the team at Paramount Holdings Group transform living spaces in major U.S. cities through acquisition of and investment in multifamily properties. These property-specific projects are placed in a broader geographical context, with an aim at revitalizing neighborhoods and contributing to the betterment of communities and the humans who inhabit them.

In the field of urban planning, Michael’s expertise includes land use, zoning, and environmental review to support the use and development of real property. He has been responsible for managing complex land use applications and environmental assessment and impact statements for real estate development projects subject to discretionary approvals, including zoning map and text amendments, zoning variances, and special permits. In this capacity, he has led developers through regulatory approvals processes at the federal, state, and local level, resulting in approval and facilitation of thousands of units of affordable and market rate housing, often as part of mixed-use developments.

Since 2012, Michael has been an Adjunct Professor of Urban Planning at the New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where he has served as faculty advisor on more than 25 Urban Planning Capstone projects.

In addition to his land development and real estate accomplishments, Michael holds certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) through the American Planning Association (APA) and is an official member of the Real Estate Tech and Innovation Council with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) New York.

He received his Master of Urban Planning from Hunter College of the City University of New York and holds a Master of Arts in U.S. History/Political Science from the University of Maryland College Park and a Bachelor of Arts from UMASS Amherst.
